Arroz con Pollo Contest Will Raise Funds for Hispanic Library Collection

The Arroz con Pollo event is a fundraiser by the Virgin Islands – Puerto Rico Friendship Committee 2008 in collaboration with the Reading Campaign, the Friends of St. Croix Public Libraries and DPNR Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums. It is being celebrated during National Library Week – Worlds Connect @ the Library.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 18. There will be other library activities such as book talks and reading running concurrently with the Chicken and Rice Contest. The contest is being held to raise funds to catalogue the Hispanic Collection at the Florence Williams Public Library so that the collection can be opened to the public.
