DOH Offices Close for One Day for Staff Workshop

April 7, 2009 – The Department of Health business offices and clinics territorywide will be closed for one day to allow staff to attend an Employee Wellness Workshop.
The workshop will begin at 8 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, in the ACC Building at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas and at UVI's Great Hall on St. Croix. This year's theme is Building the Foundation for a Healthy America, according to a press release from Acting Health Commissioner Julia Sheen
Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, April 14, following the Easter holiday.
National Public Health Week is April 6-12, and DOH is celebrating with activities over a three-day period to include health educational fairs territorywide from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, at the Tutu Park Mall parking lot and Emancipation Garden on St. Thomas; the Cruz Bay Bandstand on St. John; and the Sunny Isle Center on St. Croix. On Tuesday, April 7, DOH employees are scheduled to visit various schools to discuss health careers and services.
