Alert: WAPA Cutting Frederiksted Water Thursday Evening

April 1, 2009 — Water service will be disrupted in Frederiksted Thursday evening from Oswald Harrigan Court to the Lagoon Complex while V.I. Water and Power Authority crews install a gate valve.
Work is planned for 7-10 p.m. The gate valve will allow drinking water to be rerouted if there is a break in the main water line. After installation, fewer customers in the Frederiksted town area will be impacted by service interruptions if water line repairs are necessary in the future, according to a statement from WAPA.
Crews will be working at the top of King Street, so drive cautiously in that area, WAPA asks.
