V.I. Beekeepers Attend University of Florida Bee College

March 21, 2009 – The V.I. Department of Agriculture (VIDOA), the UVI Cooperative Extension Service (CES) and the V.I. Department of Tourism have announced that six professional beekeepers representing St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John are attending the University of Florida's Bee College from March 19-22, as part of the ongoing Virgin Fresh Beekeeping Project.
This two-day intensive training features over 40 different lectures, classes and workshops given by nationally recognized experts. The information gathered by the territory's professional beekeepers will be conveyed to local beekeeping entrepreneurs during the next round of beekeeping training, according to a press release from the Office of the Governor.
