FirstBank Contributes $1,500 to Elementary School

March 20, 2009 – FirstBank has contributed $1,500 to the Emanuel Benjamin Oliver Elementary School on St. Thomas. The funds will go towards enhancing the EBO library as part of their "Reading Haven: K-3 Owl Kids" Program. The aim of the program is to create a reading environment for students in kindergarten through 3rd grades where they can read comfortably, be relaxed and be free of the stress of a classroom environment.
Over the last five years, the bank has contributed over $1.25 million dollars to local programs, events, projects and organizations that benefit the Virgin Islands communities. Their philanthropic efforts are channeled to where they are needed most at the local level in which the company operates.
