Tuskegee Airmen Inc. Sponsors Essay Contest/Deadline Changed

Jan. 20, 2009 – The Virgin Islands Chapter Tuskegee Airmen Inc. Black History Month Essay Contest is open to all students, who are ages 6 to 18 years old and live on the island of St. Croix.
A first and second-place winner will be selected from each of the following categories: ages 6-9, ages 10-13 and ages 14-18. The date that winners will be selected has been changed to March 4.
° Entries must be e-mailed to: tuskegee.airmen.vi@gmail.com or mailed to V.I. Chapter Tuskegee Airmen Inc., P.O. Box 4809, Kingshill, V.I. 00851, and postmarked between Feb. 1 and 27.
° Essays should address the following topic: "The Tuskegee Airmen." They should include information regarding the two local V.I. Tuskegee Airmen.
° Each student may enter only one essay. Essays should be no longer than 500 words in length and should be typed or legibly handwritten in print only. No cursive writing will be accepted.
° Essays submitted must include the contestant's name, mailing address, telephone number, school attended, age and grade.
° First place winners will receive a DVD player and Tuskegee Airmen DVD movies.
° Second place winners will receive a Tuskegee Airmen book, hat, and T-shirt.
