Jan. 22, 2009 – George R. Thomas died on Jan. 22, at the age of 88, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dr. Joyce M. Thomas; sons: Lamont and Orvin Thomas; daughters: Cheryl Meyers, Brenda Canton, Linda Thomas, Minister Janice Thomas Hodge, Louise Callwood and Jacqueline Thomas; brother, Charles H. Thomas; sister, Elvira Dennery; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel.
There will be a second viewing from 10:15-11:15 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel. It will be followed by a funeral service at noon, at All Saints Cathedral.
