DHS Mini-Grants Now Available for Out-of-School Programs

Jan. 23, 2009 – Mini-grants are now available to Virgin Islands government agencies and non-government organizations through the V.I. Department of Human Services (DHS) for existing non-school hour programs. There is a total of $261,588 in funding for the program for the period ending Sept. 30, 2009.
Programs must be geared toward assisting with the purchase of computer equipment and supplies, hiring instructors or developing innovative program activities that provide youth with safe, drug-free environments, tutorial services, unique experiences and/or supervised activities.
Completed applications (four sets: one original and three copies) must be received by the DHS Offices, 1303 Hospital Grounds, Knud Hansen Complex; or the Commissioner's Office, in Golden Rock on St. Croix no later than 4 p.m., on Feb. 17, 2009.
