St. Thomas Region's Knock-out Results: New Vibes and UWS to Meet in the Finals

Jan. 16, 2009 – The St. Thomas Region league champion New Vibes edged the Waitikubuli 2-1 in Thursday's knockout semi-final action at the Lionel Roberts Stadium. Marlon Wilton scored both goals for the winners, who will get the opportunity to win their third title of the season if they defeat the UWS in next Tuesday's final. The Waitikubuli's consolation goal was scored by Damien Burton.
In Thursday's earlier semi-final action, the UWS' Raymond Chetram scored his second goal of the game with one minute left as his team outlasted the Central Link 3-2. After taking a 1-0 lead, the UWS had to come from a 2-1 deficit for the victory. The Central Link's Howie Williams and Mikey St. Felix scored their goals, while the UWS' Dwight Ferguson was their other goal scorer.
The knockout final will take place at 7:30 p.m., next Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Lionel Roberts Stadium.
