St. Thomas Regional Soccer: Waitikubuli and UWS Record Victories

Jan. 15, 2009 – The Waitikubuli came from behind to edge the Laraza 2-1 in the St. Thomas Region knock out action Tuesday night at the Lionel Roberts Stadium. Laraza's Franky Alexis scored less than five minutes into the game to give his team the early lead. Ten minutes later the Waitikubuli's Mackendrick Bernard converted a penalty kick for the equalizer. The Waitikubuli's David Sorhaindo scored the game winner.
The Waitikubuli will face the New Vibes in Thursday's second semi-final at the Lionel Robert Stadium. In the earlier game, the UWS out lasted the Raymix 2-0 in extra time. At the end of the regulation time the game was deadlocked 0-0. The UWS's Raymond Chetram and Fitzroy Huggins each scored with five minutes left in the second extra time period. The UWS will face the Central Link in the Thursday, Jan. 16, earlier semi-final.
