Jan. 15, 2009 — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is advising St. Thomas water customers in Estate Thomas New Quarters and Havensight areas that there will be a water service interruption from midnight to 5 a.m.
A six-inch water main was damaged by crews working on the Long Bay Centerline Road Project earlier Thursday, causing the two-hour service disruption experienced by customers in the area. The line was temporarily repaired so that service could be restored as quickly as possible.
Crews will condemn the six-inch water main during the repair period returning the area to full service by early morning.
In its announcement of the interruption WAPA apologized for any inconvenience caused by the service interruption.
