Animal Welfare Center Will Hold Fur Ball

The animals of St. Croix Animal Welfare Center (AWC) cordially invite the public to a gala event, the Fur Ball, which will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at The Palms at Pelican Cove.
The 9th Annual Fur Ball kicks off with cocktails followed by a canine couture fashion show featuring AWC pets as models. The "clothes hounds" will be clad in fashions from Sadie's Pet Boutique in Christiansted. A number of auction items featuring the best of St. Croix will be up for bid, and the evening will conclude with dinner and dancing under the stars to the music of Steve Katz.
The Fur Ball provides much needed funds to support AWC's programs and services. AWC provides the essential community service of animal control and works to fight pet overpopulation via low-cost spay/neuter and humane education programs. Its goal is to find loving homes for all of its pets through adoption programs.
Tickets are $500 Top Dog level, which provides purchasers with special recognition, seating and listing in the event program; $250 for Fat Cat, which offers special recognition and seating; and $125 for Furry Friend level. To reserve tickets and sponsorship information, contact development director Holly Drummond at 643-4553.
