Jan. 13, 2009 – Leona Elisa Davis Woodson, also known as "Lee," of Work and Rest died on Jan. 9. She was 87 years old.
She is survived by her daughters: Colette Woodson Burgess and Yolanda Woodson Dowdell; son, John H. Woodson III; grandchildren: Kanda Nicole Burgess and Leah Ashley Dowdell; and sister, Etla Davis. She is also survived by son-in-law, Michael Dowdell; daughter-in-law, Debbie Henry-Woodson; sister-in-law, Mae Davis; nieces: Agnes Garvin, Lera Pauling and Laurie Lockett; nephews: Ronald Nelson, Kenneth Smith and Darryl Smith; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 16, at the Friedensthal Moravian Church in Christiansted. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in the name of Leona Davis Woodson to Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital Dialysis Unit, c/o Dr. Gregory Caliste, 4007 Est. Diamond Ruby, Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I. 00820-4421.
