Patricia LaCorte of Oceana Restaurant and Gallery will be featuring San Francisco artist Maggie Malloy in her latest St. Thomas exhibition, "Rites of Passage," with an opening reception from 5:30-7 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Oceana Gallery. Works in acrylic, mono-prints, and etchings will be available for sale, and a portion of the proceeds from art sales and other reception events will be donated to the Rwanda Project USVI. The project's primary mission is to be an educational corporation that will raise funds to take Virgin Islands high school students to Rwanda to expose them to life in a country that has been devastated by genocide and disease, while allowing them to complete community service projects there.
