Nov. 5, 2008 – Governor John P. deJongh Jr. Wednesday congratulated the 15 Senators-Elect who were elected to serve in the 28th Legislature of the Virgin Islands as well as Delegate Donna Christensen who will be returning to her post in Washington as the Territory's Delegate to Congress.
"The people of the Virgin Islands have selected those individuals whom they believe can best work on their behalf. On behalf of my Administration, I pledge to work with them to provide the future of progress that the Virgin Islands deserves," deJongh said.
"Going forward, I do not expect that we will always agree, but we must work together for the common good, and I am confident that we can all agree on that. These are times of excitement and challenge," deJongh added. The governor said he is confident that by working together we can accomplish much.
DeJongh also thanked all who presented themselves as candidates for public office for their contribution to our common good.
