Animal Care Center to Hold 'No Fleas Please' Flea Market

The St. John Animal Care Center (ACC) will hold its "No Fleas Please" flea market again. The popular event, which drew hundreds of deal-seekers to Love City last year, is planned for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 18, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 19, at Winston Wells Ball Field.
The ACC is hoping residents and business owners will again consider cleaning out their closets and storage units this fall and donating the contents to this year's flea market. Last year many generous businesses and local residents contributed to the cause by donating furniture, household items, building materials, electronics, books, toys and more.
Get Rid of Stuff: The ACC is ready to receive donations in advance of the big event, such as gently used items from your home or villa (no used clothing, please), which can be brought directly to the shelter. Look for the storage container outside the shelter.
Please bring items in boxes if possible. For drop-offs, see Connie at the shelter (Tuesday through Saturday).
Sell Your Own Stuff: Sell gently used items and clothing yourself by renting a space at the event. A $25 donation reserves a parking space on the field. Load up your car and have your own sale. For space availability, contact the ACC today at 774-1625.
Buy Stuff: The "No Fleas Please" flea market is one of three annual fundraising events sponsored by the ACC. Each event raises critical funds needed to continue shelter operations, like caring for and finding homes for orphaned dogs and cats, controlling the feral cat population and educating the community on animal care.
The St. John ACC is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 774-1625.
