Brief: St. Croix Central High School Wins V.I. History Quiz Bowl

May 2, 2008 — St. Croix Central High School took home the first place trophy in the 2008 V.I. History, Civics, Geography, Juvenile Rights and Character Enhancement Bowl, held recently at the Palms Court Harbour View Hotel on St. Thomas.
Competing in the bowl were students from public, private and parochial elementary, middle/junior and senior high schools from across the territory. The contest featured questions about people, places, things and locations throughout the Virgin Islands. Central defeated All Saints Cathedral School and Charlotte Amalie High School to win the rights to bring the trophy home to St. Croix.
Team members are J'Nique Smith, captain; Krystal Jacobs; Cashena Christian; Michael Pemberton; La'Tonya Nesbitt; Dolymar Cruz; and Kia Griffith. The quiz bowl team was coached by Social Studies teachers Ericka Hansen and Alphenis Williams. Assistant Principal Regina Williams served as the administration's support and assistance contact.
The 2008 V.I. History Bowl was sponsored by the V.I. Department of Education.
