Alert: WAPA Schedules Leak-Detection Surveys for Saturday

Oct. 19, 2007 — V.I. Water and Power Authority water technicians will perform emergency leak-detection surveys in the Estate Thomas New Quarters area from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Customers will experience water-service interruption during this period, as a very comprehensive search of the area for leaks is required, according to a WAPA news release.
Customers in the Estate Thomas New Quarters area who observe unusual streams of water flowing on their property are urged to report this to the Water Distribution department at 775-5873 and reference this announcement. This will greatly assist WAPA in detecting and repairing the existing leaks as quickly as possible.
Drivers are asked to proceed cautiously in the work areas, especially if WAPA technicians and/or equipment are observed.
"The authority appreciates the patience of its customers during the survey period and will do everything possible to restore service as soon as possible," the release said.
