UVI Agriculture Will Conduct Papaya Workshop

Sept. 8, 2007 – The UVI Agricultural Experiment Station will conduct a Papaya Workshop and Field Tour from 2-4 p.m., on Sunday, Sept. 9, in the Research and Extension Center Building, Room 133, on UVI's St. Croix campus.
It will include a presentation on papaya production, sample tasting and a field tour. It will emphasize papaya spacing, drip irrigation and mulch for optimal production. Seeds will be available. The presenter will be Dr. Thomas Zimmerman, "Dr. Z," who has 15 years of papaya research experience. All interested persons are encouraged to attend. Admission is free.
