UVICELL Will Teach Course on English for Spanish Speakers

Sept. 1, 2007 – The University of the Virgin Islands' Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center will be offering English for Spanish speaking individuals. The course will be held 6-8 p.m., every Thursday, from Sept. 13 through Oct. 18. Sessions will be held at Joseph E. Simpson Building in Frederiksted, St. Croix.
The course is designed for Spanish speakers with no prior knowledge of the English language who would like to acquire a basic level of competence in understanding and speaking in English. Participants will learn how to recognize basic English words, use words in the correct context during conversation, hold a basic conversation in English and much more.
