SBA to Have Seminar for Veterans and Military Members

Aug. 29, 2007 – The UVI Small Business Development Center in collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration will present a seminar on the SBA Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative and Other SBA Programs. The seminar will take place from 2-4 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 6, at the UVI-SBDC Training Facility at Nisky Center, Suite 720. Carl Christensen, branch manager of the SBA office in the Virgin Islands, will speak. Admission is free.
The SBA's initiative is for veterans and members of the military community wanting to establish or expand small businesses. Eligible military community members include:
· Veterans
· Service-disabled veterans
· Active-duty service members eligible for the military's Transition Assistance Program
· Reservists and National Guard members
· Current spouses of any of the above
· The widowed spouse of a service member or veteran who died during service or of a service-connected disability
Come and gather information that can help you to start, grow and maintain your business. Be proactive instead of reactive.
