War in Iraq or War in the Islands?

Dear Source:
I am on my second deployment to Iraq. We just lost 14 Soldiers in one helicopter crash and every day Soldiers are over here dying for America's freedom. I am here fighting for the freedom of the natives of the USVI and instead of it being appreciated, they are steadily killing each other off.
LTC Canegata and SFC Lake would be ashamed of these young men in the VI having lost their lives as well. Maybe when they are done, they would have rid all the violence from the islands. I am away from my one and only child again when I should be home raising her. It is totally disheartening to come to work and read about the continuum of murders everyday on St. Croix.
It really makes me wonder if I am safer staying here in Iraq and dealing with the enemy because at home, yeah home, it seems I would be in more danger. Not sure what it is going to take to curb the violence with these individuals, no I won't give them credit for being a man, but something has to be done. Our Islands of Paradise have become deadlier than Iraq. God help us all!! Disgusted Soldier,
