Making Sure of the Facts

Dear Source:

I was appalled when I went to the UVI site "It's Our Future.Com" and found ads for porn! But, unless the UVI staff takes measures to stop this, it's a right of free expression.
This was taken from Paul Devine's article about Roger Morgan and the such. While he gives praises about Ms. Mills responding and taking an interest in today's politics and the like, he states that her letter is lacking thorough information. His direct quote : "You article in the Source was both refreshing and questioning but it lacked information as you wanted some very important questions answered." It seems he as well is suffering from the same calamity. I have visited the UVI site on many occasions and was shocked when I saw this piece. Mr. Devine, you have the site wrong, including the url extension. UVI's site is www.itsourfuture.vi the site to which you are referring -the .com one – is up for sale and is not associated with the UVI site.
Please when posting information like this on the net, be sure of your facts. In everything we do we are representing our islands, our community. When you want to make a statement, make sure your comments are based on fact and are correct. Sending out information like that is very detrimental to our society and puts us in a horrible light to the world. It is the mistakes like this, whether intentional or not, that is creating the problem we are now facing with the talk shows, the newspapers and media in general.
Most people will believe that what they heard or read was the God's honest truth because the person sounds reputable. That is how rumors begin and lives are destroyed. If we want to stop all of this we need to look to ourselves first before we can look to any one else.
BTW, I am NOT affiliated with UVI, I just hate to see misinformation put out there. I am sure I may be slammed for my comments, but so be it, that is the nature of the beast.
