District Announces Reporting/Orientation Dates for All Public Schools

Aug. 16, 2007 – Parents, students, school-based personnel and the general public are informed of the district's 2007-2008 schedule of dates and times for student reporting and orientation. The scheduled dates are as follows, according to a press release from Acting Insular Superintendent of Schools for the St. Croix District Janine Schuster.

ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Monday, Aug. 27
All returning students in grades one through six will report for a full day of orientation and activities. Kindergarteners will not report.
Tuesday, Aug. 28
All new and transfer students in grades one through six will begin reporting regularly for instruction and activities. Kindergarteners will report. Parents or guardians must accompany kindergarten students and should be prepared to participate in the orientation sessions.
Wednesday, Aug. 29
All students will report.
JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS

All students should be dressed in proper school uniform when attending orientations. Parents or guardians are to accompany seventh grade students to the orientation and should be prepared to participate in the sessions. Class schedules will be distributed and ID photos and school insurance processed at $15 each (a total cost of $30 per child).
Monday, Aug. 27
8 a.m. – All 8th graders (including new and transfers)
Tuesday, Aug. 28
8 a.m. – All 7th graders (including new and transfers)
Wednesday, Aug. 29
All junior high students will report for a full day of instruction at the regular reporting times.
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS

It is mandatory that parents/guardians accompany their child/children to the orientation sessions. Students must be in their proper school uniform for orientation. Following orientation, class schedules will be distributed. School fees to include ID photos ($15), insurance ($15), locker fees ($10), and PTSA fee ($10) will be processed and must be paid for in cash or by money order.

Monday, Aug. 27
8:30 – 11:30 a.m. – All 11th graders (including returning, new, and transfers)
12:30 – 3:30 p.m. – All 12th graders (including returning, new, and transfers)
Tuesday, Aug. 28
8:30 a.m. – noon – All 10th graders (including returning, new and transfers)
Wednesday, Aug. 29
8:30 a.m. – noon – All 9th graders (including returning, new and transfers)
St. Croix Central High School
Monday, Aug. 27
8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – All 11th graders (including returning, new, and transfers)
12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – All 12th graders (including returning, new, and transfers)
Tuesday, Aug. 28
8:30 a.m. – noon – 10th graders with last names beginning in A-K (returning, new and transfers)
12:30 – 3:30 p.m. – 10th graders with last names beginning in L-Z (returning, new and transfers)
Wednesday, Aug. 29
8:30 a.m. – noon – 9th graders with last names beginning in A-K (returning, new and transfers)
12:30 – 3:30 p.m. – Ninth (9th) graders with last names beginning in L-Z (returning, new and transfers)
Thursday, Aug. 30 Full day of classes begin for all high school students.
