Delegate's Offices Closed July 3 and 4

July 3, 2007 – Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen's offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 3 and Wednesday, July 4, in commemoration of the Emancipation and Independence Day holidays.
"As we commemorate the journey to our emancipation here at home and the Independence Day of our country, I am proud to join in paying tribute to the many courageous Virgin Islanders of yesteryear, who through their sacrifices and dedication made both possible," Christensen said.
"Today, more than ever, we recognize that freedom is not free and so during this year's celebration let us especially remember our men and women deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and ask God's special blessing on them and their families," she said.
Christensen is scheduled to fly to Ft. Bragg in North Carolina this week for the Friday, July 6 deployment of the Virgin Islands National Guard to Iraq. "I want to wish them well and Godspeed for a safe tour of duty and return home," she said.
The delegate wished all Virgin Islands residents a great Emancipation and Independence Day holiday.
