Memories of Carole Desenne

Dear Source:
Such a touching article…it truly sums up Carole’s zest for life. In addition to the many wonderful talents and incredible energy that she shared in the community, kindly permit me to add United Way to her credits.
Carole headed up the St. John division of our United Way Campaign for 5 years–recruiting volunteers, devising strategies, handling solicitations…so well that she more than tripled the St. John goals…this along with being a major donor to United Way. She was often the motivator for us because she loved what she did.
The thing that I will remember most about Carole is her ability to put a smile on someone’s face…her ability to engage you in any setting…and the pride she showed for her vegetable garden. Her cheerful spirit was infectious.
As President of United Way of St. Thomas-St. John, kindly allow me, on behalf of our board of directors and member agencies, to extend heartfelt condolences to her family during this time of sorrow. She will be sorely missed by her United Way family.
Cheryl George-Chance
St. Thomas
