Dear Source:
I think Marilyn's letter was entirely correct. The islanders need to face up to the truth, and that is that quite a lot of visitors to the Virgin Islands think they are rude.
I am always hearing people who have visited say, "the locals were so rude!" Until the islanders acknowledge it is a problem, they can't fix it. There are a lot more reasons than just to help the economy that people should not be rude. Many people in the Virgin Islands end up going to the United States. How can they make it there with such terrible manners? I know the argument is…they have manners you just don't understand them — and my answer to that is NO ONE does, nor wants to because you are being so disagreeable! It's high time people in the Virgin Islands start behaving better. Excuses won't help.
