Pistarckle Theatre Conducts Leadership Performing Arts Camps

July 17, 2007 – Rounding out the 2007 summer season, Pistarckle Theater's Education Department presents the Leadership Performing Arts Camp. This is a fantastic camp for those just getting started in loving art and theater. Classes are meant to give children a variety of options for learning about theater. Classes include “Becoming a Producer,” “Acting for the Camera,” “Understanding Classic Hollywood,” “Dancing Till You Drop” and much more.
Parents take note: Pistarckle will feature a Parent Play Day during this camp, when we give them the chance to take a crash course in what their children are learning taught by their kids. This camp will focus on peer-to-peer leadership through building and creating a puppet show for smaller children; sitting behind the audition table instead of being the auditioner; and becoming an advocate for other kids through spoken word poetry.
Auditions are available by appointment, and this camp is available for ages 7 to 17. The Leadership Camp takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, July 23- Aug. 24. Tuition is $75 per week.
The Leadership Camps are proudly sponsored by The Peter & Patricia Gruber Foundation, The Law Enforcement Planning Commission, The Department of Education/Human Services, Redhead Management Incorporated, The Lana Vento Foundation, Prosser ICC Foundation, Community Foundation of the VI and the VI Council on the Arts.
