Community Involvement Pays Off

Dear Source:
The League of Women Voters of the Virgin Islands congratulates the people of St. Croix, and all those, in government and out, who worked together to resolve the problems of the planned Motor Pool on St. Croix on what was seen as not the best use for that particular area. Good information was proliferated, Facts were made public and brought to the attention of the proper government officials. Discussions with interested parties were held successfully. A very unpopular decision was rescinded.
That is the process for which the League stands: research, education, discussion, and consensus.
We look forward to, and intend to work for, more of this kind of community involvement.
Eleanor Cerge
President League of Women Voters
St. Thomas
