Brief: Power Restored to Bordeaux and Carolina

May 2, 2007 – V.I. Water and Power Authority crews have restored power to sections of Bordeaux and Carolina after severe winds from a squall resulted in a power outage Tuesday afternoon.
The outage began when power fluctuated for several minutes and a loud humming could be heard coming from a pole located on Centerline Road.
WAPA spokeswoman Cassandra Dunn said that the wind caused two of the three lines, strung from pole to pole, to touch.
"The center one burned," she said, noting that a line fell to the ground.
"And when that happens, the power goes out," she said.
