Brief: Missing Female Teen Now in Custody

April 23, 2007 — One of the four youths who had failed to return to the residence at the St. Croix Crisis Center was returned under the guardianship of Human Services, according to the commissioners of Police and Human Services, James McCall and Chris Finch.
About 1 a.m. Monday, two police officers spotted Anne-Marie Monsegue in the Upper Love area, according to a news release from the departments. Monsegue has declined to tell juvenile detectives of the VIPD about her whereabouts since April 15, when she failed to return to the Girl’s Group Home.
However, Monsegue did tell authorities that she knows the whereabouts of another missing youth, Sasha Alvarez, 15. But Monsegue is not willing to reveal her location, the news release said.
Alvarez also failed to return to the Girl’s Group Home on April 15. Monsegue was remanded to the Youth Rehabilitation Center by orders of Superior Court Judge Patricia D. Steele.
The search continues for Alvarez and two males, Shawn Benjamin, 13 and Leroy Simon, 12, McCall said. Benjamin and Simon failed to return to the Crisis Center Saturday afternoon.
