Brief: Former Fire Service Applicants Encouraged to Reapply

April 23, 2007 — People who have sat and successfully completed the V.I. Fire Service entrance examination but have not followed through are encouraged to apply for vacancies, according to a news release from the Fire Service.
“If you have taken the test, been notified by the personnel division and still have an interest in becoming a firefighter, you must contact the administrative office of the Fire Service immediately," said St. Thomas-St. John Fire Chief Glenn “Milo” Francis.
Some applicants who have passed the entrance examination have not followed through in areas such as:
— not previously submitting the required document package;
— not taking the physical fitness test;
— not getting interviewed by the review board; or
— not receiving notification of disqualification.
The administrative office of the V.I. Fire Service can be reached at 774-7610. For persons who have previously sat the firefighter's examination, the deadline for contacting the V.I. Fire Service is May 11, 2007.
