VIWMA Director to Speak at Recycling Association Meeting

March 2, 2007 – Did you know that more than half of the garbage in our landfill is recyclable? Join the grassroots effort to promote recycling on St. Croix, by coming to the March meeting of the St. Croix Recycling Association, to be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., on March 7, at the Pearl B. Larsen School auditorium on East End Road, just east of Christiansted.
May Adams Cornwall, the executive director of the VIWMA, will be provide an overview of the Authority's solid waste management programs and opportunities for recycling on St. Croix.
There will also be a presentation from the V.I. Resource Conservation & Development Council Inc. about how they can provide assistance in forming an association, followed by a discussion on how to organize a recycling association, what can be recycled, forming focus groups and the results from last month's public input questionnaire.
