Feb. 15, 2007 — St. Thomas-St. John District public schools will be closed Friday as faculty and staff participate in training workshops, according to a release from the school district's office.
“Students are urged to utilize their day off to complete assignments and do extra studying,” urged St. Thomas-St. John Acting Superintendent Lisa Hassel-Forde.
She added that the workshops will also serve to bring the district closer to compliance with the federally mandated No Child Left Behind Act and the implementation of the Standards and Accountability Initiative.
