Elementary School Spanish Spelling Bee Scheduled

Feb. 6, 2007 – The St. Thomas-St. John District Elementary Spanish Spelling Bee for students in grades K-6 is scheduled to take place from 8-10:30 a.m., on Friday, March 2, at the Lockhart Elementary School, according to a press release from District Foreign Language Coordinator Myrna van Beverhoudt.
"All public elementary schools offering a Spanish program are expected to participate in the Spanish Spelling Bee which serves to showcase the language acquisition gains of our elementary Spanish learners," said Van Beverhoudt.
Parents and members of the public are encouraged to attend the event to show support of our students in their academic endeavors.
