Feb. 5, 2007 – The Virgin Islands Tennis Association will start its 1st Annual HOVENSA Junior Tennis Tournament Series during February. The circuit of seven junior age group tournaments will be played throughout the V.I., and the first one will be held on Feb. 16, at the Tennis Club of St. Croix.
Junior tennis players will showcase their tennis playing skills while having the chance to earn a district ranking and possible selection on the VITA National Junior Team. VITA age group categories include boys and girls, ages 18, 16, 14, 12 and 10-and-under singles. All participants must be U.S. Tennis Association members.
Future sites of the HOVENSA Junior Tennis Series include the Racquet Club of St. Thomas, March 9-11; the Buccaneer Tennis Club, April 13-15; the Westin Hotel, May 4-6; the Christiansted Tennis Club, Sept. 7-9; the St. Thomas Yacht Club, Oct. 19-21; and the Buccaneer Tennis Club, Nov. 9-11.
