Seminars on Bird Flu Concerns Will Be Held

Jan. 23, 2007 – The Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture in conjunction with UVI Cooperative Extension Service will be holding a series of public information seminars entitled "Bird Flu Concerns for the Virgin Islands" for poultry farmers, game bird owners, pet bird owners, pet shop owners, feed store owners, health officials, bird lovers and all interested people. It will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Legislature Building, Cruz Bay, St. John.
This seminar will focus on what avian influenza is, how it affects domestic and wild birds, how it could effect the V.I. and how the V.I. is prepared for bird flu.
