Brief: Two Bystanders Injured in Tutu Park Mall Shooting

Jan. 20, 2007 — Gunshots erupted at Tutu Park Mall Saturday afternoon, with two people injured and the shooters still at large, according to police.
The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. in the covered parking area by Subway, according to police reports.
"Two individuals were involved in an altercation, and gunshots were exchanged," police Spokeswoman Shawna Richards said Saturday evening. "Two bystanders were injured during the fight, but their injuries are not considered to be life threatening at this point."
After the incident, police stopped an individual matching the description of one of the suspects who was found to be carrying a firearm. "Police have since determined that this individual was not involved in the shooting, but because he was carrying a firearm, he has been arrested," Richards said.
Police ask that anyone with information on this crime call 715-5534 or 715-5546. They may also call the hotline at 715-5544 or dial 911.
