Kean High School to Enforce Dress Code

Jan. 12, 2007 – Ivanna Eudora Kean High School parents, guardians and the general public are advised that effective Tuesday, Jan. 16, the student dress code policy at the school will be strictly enforced, according to Kean Dean of Students Leayle Robinson.
The following items will be enforced:
· Student identification (I.D.) cards must be worn at all times (affixed to shirt collar, pocket or on an ID chain.)
· Regulation shirts must be worn at all times
· Shirts must be tucked into (pants/skirts) at all times
· Shoes must be brown or black (no multi-color shows allowed)
· Sneakers must be black, white, pink or maroon (no multi-color sneakers allowed)
· Socks must be worn at least three inches above the ankle
· Skirts must fall to knee length both in the front and back
The following items are not allowed:
· Broken or torn IDs
· Ankle socks
· Extra baggy pants
· Extra long pants
· Cellular phones
· Jewelry pinned on uniform
· Electronic devices (CD/MP3 players, palm pilots, etc.)
· Sunglasses
"All students are to be appropriately dressed and groomed," said Robinson. "Failure to follow the prescribed guidelines in part, or in its entirety will result in disciplinary action, to include being sent home until the proper adjustments are made."
