Award-winning Guidebook Publishes V.I. Guide

Jan. 11, 2007 – Avalon Travel Publishing, publishers of the Moon Handbooks series of travel guides, recently announced the publication of their third edition guidebook to the Virgin Islands.
Written by Tortola resident Susanna Henighan, the 330-page guidebook provides trip planning advice and touring information for the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.
"Moon's approach to guidebooks is to provide comprehensive information, but to balance that with thoughtful opinions and analysis so that travellers can make the most of their vacation," Henighan said. "So the book cuts through a lot of the typical tourist information and gives visitors an inside look at the destination."
In addition to detailed trip planning information, "Moon Handbooks Virgin Islands" also provides a comprehensive overview of the history, culture, natural environment and geography of the Virgin Islands.
"Moon guides always include background information on topics including history, culture and social and environmental issues," Henighan said. "This is because they believe that the more travellers know about their destination, the more they will get out of their travelling experience."
Henighan visited each of the islands in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and explored hundreds of attractions, parks, historic sites, hotels and restaurants.
Moon Handbooks have been winning awards for quality writing and insightful advice ever since their first guidebook was published more than 30 years ago. This is the third edition of the "Moon Guide to the Virgin Islands."
