Anti-Gun Violence Groups to Take Their Message to the Streets

June 16, 2006 — Mothers Against Guns and Moms and Parents on the Battlefield will hit the streets Saturday for a 6 p.m. prayer march and rally from Market Square to Emancipation Garden. According to a release issued Friday, the event's purpose is to "announce a clarion cry for the lives of our children."
Celia Carroll, executive director of Mothers Against Guns and the Jason Carroll Memorial Fund, invited all prayer groups and "intercessors from the various denominations to come out."
"We think that is particularly important that all parents join us in the march and rally. The battle is for the lives and minds of our children," Carroll stated.
Also on hand at the rally will be family and friends of Tristan Charlier and Leon Roberts, the two New York tourists wo were slain in June 2005 near the bus stop at Arturo Watlington Post Office.
