V.I. National Guard Will Hold Event for Children
The Virgin Islands National Guard Territorial Youth Program in partnership with the University of the Virgin Islands' 4-H program will present "hero packs" to children of deployed guardsmen on St. Thomas in a brief ceremony at 6 p.m., on Friday, May 26, at the Leonard B. Francis Armory in Estate Nazareth.
These backpacks are to thank military children and youth for the sacrifices they make when their parents are deployed. They contain journals, various gadgets and cuddly bears for children in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Family members and guardians are asked to bring their children.
For more details on this event call the Public Affairs Office at 712-7750.
