Hospital Employees Are Honored

May 13, 2006 – Meredith Fletcher may have been raised in New York, but she has spent a lifetime caring for the healthcare needs of St. Johnians. On Thursday, May 11, she received a special award from Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center for her 25 years of service.
"I know this is a surprise for you today, and you said you did not want an award, but we want to recognize you and thank you for your commitment and your dedication to this organization and your community," said Harold Wallace, MKS administrative director.
Fletcher is retiring next month and was one of seven employees to receive service awards given today in St. John as part of National Hospital Week.
The hospital also recognized two longstanding employees for their ten years of service: Dina Alford and Leanne Dennis. Four employees received awards for five years of service: Velona Hendricks, Alyce Jordan, Christine Jordan and Abbie Madsen.
"Five and ten years truly means a lot in this day and age," said President and CEO of Schneider Regional Medical Center Rodney E. Miller Sr. "Each of you is a vital link in the chain of operation at Schneider Regional, and we thank you for your service to the community," he added.
