Student Excels in Academic Talent Search

May 1, 2006 – Benjamin F. Walker IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Walker III, has been selected by the Duke University Talent Identification Program as a participant in their 2005-2006 talent search. He was selected as a student in the nation's top five percent of academically talented 7th graders qualified to take the SAT or ACT.
As a result of his exceptional ACT scores, he has been invited to participate in Duke's Tip's Center for Summer Studies in Durham, N.C. Out of 17,899 students tested in the state of Texas, he was chosen as one of the few to be recognized at the Texas Recognition Ceremony.
Ben is currently at the Spillane Middle School in Cypress, Texas. He is presently taking accelerated math courses and will continue taking accelerated high school courses next year.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold M. Golden and the son of the former Carmen L. Golden, who is a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Temple University and Widener University.
