Visiting Actors to Give Benefit for CCT

April 20, 2006 – An acting couple from Vermont, who visit the island annually, will participate in a fundraiser on April 22 for the Caribbean Community Theatre.
Sam and Barbara Lloyd of the Weston Playhouse in Vermont will participate in CCT's production of "Wedding Bell Blues," an evening of theater and music. This event will feature the Lloyds in a scene from "Plaza Suite" – a Neil Simon comedy. Local entertainers will conclude the evening with music by Big Band St. Croix under the direction of Kent Moorhead.
The Lloyds met on the stage of the Weston Playhouse in 1954. Since then they have performed countless roles, together and separately, sharing the stage in such plays as "On Golden Pond," "Noises Off, Broadway Bound," "The Dining Room," and "Ancestral Voices." They performed both "Love Letters" and "The Magic of Shakespeare" on St. Croix last year.
Big Band St. Croix consists of many talented local musicians, including Mark Bass, Douglas Carter, Paul Chakroff, George Clarke, Hugh Clarke, Wayne Clarke, Jerry Doward, Kelvin Francis, Michael Franklin, Chris Fredericks, Eric Garnick, Raymond Harley, Kendell Henry, Bill Howell, Lucien James, Lennox Joseph, Kent Moorehead, and James Sealy, along with vocalists Audrey Brown, Marilyn Chakroff and Dean Hodge.
This one-night-only event on Saturday, April 22 will be staged in the CCT theater at #18 Estate Golden Rock in Christiansted, St. Croix. Tickets are $50 per person ($45 for CCT members), including a buffet dinner by Teddy Richards of Purples Catering in the courtyard at 6:30 p.m., the play at 8 p.m., and dessert and coffee in the courtyard following the play. Thereafter, guests are invited to return to the theater to dance to Big Band St. Croix. Seating is limited, so make your reservations now by calling CCT at 778-1983 or email: eileen@cct.vi.
