VITA Sponsors Junior Tennis Tournament

April 5, 2006 – The Virgin Islands Tennis Association (VITA) is sponsoring a tournament at the St. Thomas Yacht Club from April 14 to April 16. The categories are boys and girls ages 10 to 18. The entry fee is $15 per player for the first event and $10 for a second event. Balls and t-shirts will be provided. The registration deadline is 5 p.m., April 12.

St. Croix players needing housing can contact Jeanne Brennen at 690-1494 or email her at jebrenn@attglobal.net.
For information regarding reimbursement of travel expenses by the St. Croix players, up to $75/player, please contact Linda Duggan @ 778-7539. This assistance is being provided by a grant from the VI Olympic Committee.
This is part of the 2006 VITA Junior Tennis Circuit. Other tournaments this spring will be on May 5 to May 7, at Canegata Park, St. Croix, and June 9 to June 11, on St. Thomas. These tournaments will be used for ranking and selection of junior players for the summer International Tennis Federation circuit. In order for junior players to be eligible for selection for the summer ITF circuit, they must play in at least two tournaments.
