V.I. Council on the Arts Sponsors Watercolor Exhibit

March 31, 2006 – The Virgin Islands Council on the Arts is presenting an exhibition of watercolor paintings by Bruce Shrallow. There will a "meet the artist" reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Friday, April 7, at the Council Arts Gallery, located in the Francois Building across from the Fort. The exhibit will run through May 10.
Bruce Shrallow is a long time island resident and a retired St. Thomas dentist, who has been painting for many years. He has exhibited at Gallery, St. Thomas, Alexander's Bella Blu and the Blue Turtle Gallery. He is an award-winning artist and has many paintings in private collections throughout the United States.
His impressionist paintings depict life in the tropics and St. Thomas.
Many of his early works were infused with details, but in recent years his work has become much less realistic and his watercolors ask the viewer to fill in the details.
