Emergency Preparedness Holds Training Workshops

March 8, 2006 – The Department of Emergency Preparedness and Response will hold two workshops this month for all emergency response agencies and health care providers territory-wide.
The first workshop, "Disaster Behavioral Health First Aid Specialist Training," will provide public responders, such as mental healthcare workers and community professionals, with the knowledge and skills to respond to the health needs of disaster survivors and rescuers, according to a press release from the Department of Health.
The training will be held on St. Croix from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Tuesday, March 14, at the Charles Harwood Medical Complex (training room No. 1016, on the 1st floor). Registration is from 7:45 a.m. to 8 a.m.
The second workshop, "Laboratories Biological Defense Training," will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Wednesday, March 29, at the Charles Harwood complex (training room No. 1016).
