26-Year-Old Man Murdered at Oswald Harris Court

Feb. 5, 2005 — Police have no suspects in the murder of 26-year-old Kelmon David, a St. Thomas man found shot to death outside Building 21 at Oswald Harris Court Saturday afternoon around sunset. The shooting death is the fourth homicide in the territory this year, the third on St. Thomas.
Police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Hannah said residents "called 911 at 5:56 p.m. Saturday to report shots fired and a man lying in a pool of blood at Harris Court public housing community." Officers found David's body to the north of Building 21.
A motive for the killing has not been established.
There were unconfirmed reports Sunday that the shooting could have stemmed from a confrontation between David and another person over the victim's vehicle.
David's death is the second murder in the territory in 24 hours. On Friday night, a St. Croix man was shot and killed.
Police appealed to the community on Sunday for assistance. Hannah asked anyone with information on either of the two homicides to contact police at 778-2211 or 778-4950 on St. Croix, 774-2211 on St. Thomas or the emergency number 911.
