Historical Society Explores Ruins of Plantation
The St. John Historical Society will explore the ruins of Estate Susannaberg with host Ronnie Jones and society president, author and historian, David Knight, on Sunday, Feb. 26. This is a rare opportunity to visit one of St. John's privately owned historic treasures. It is one of the oldest plantation sites on island and its ruins are among the least documented and understood. Participants will meet at the entrance to Estate Susannaberg, at the junction of Routes 10 and 204, at 10 a.m. Carpooling is recommended. There will be a $5 charge for non-members. Drinking water, a hat, and sunscreen are advised.
